Mixed Feelings
This film brings you on a journey about a girl living through a war period with air raids being a normal occurrence. At first the movie was pretty mundane and boring, while the animation was unique it was also its downfall at times, especially for the characters design imo. i cant get over how the main is suppose to be 18 when she looks 10.

you get your slice of life, getting to know the characters and settings a bit, about halfway through is when the action went down. i am unsure why they are attacking a remote village without discrimination, at times it feels forced, the lighthearted animation along with the dark setting did not give off the right vibe and on the contrary made it feel more fake.

the scene at the end with the little girl felt really forced as if just to bring back emotions and for her to accept it, just randomly stumbles upon the main and starts hugging her.

at times it felt like the characters cared for each, other times it was they couldn't give less of a shit. just after the accident, gets bombarded with chores and how its her fault, no sympathy showed for her during the initial scene, later on concern is showed but after the fact like an after thought.

i get its suppose to show life doesn't stop and you cant expect special treatment, also in a war zone its common thing but let her adjust for a bit she is missing something.

the romance could have been fleshed out better, while some was good their felt like there wasn't a connection. with the ex or whoever it was coming in for a short scene mostly for entertainment / emotional value.

all in all it was a nice movie to watch, i liked the background animation, and also how they mashed the animation to fit the characters emotions at certain scenes. change the character design and the add the right vibe to certain scenes, with more details around the war and it could be a great film.
