This was one of the very first Shoujo mangas I've read. At the time I was amazed by it since it was one of my first mangas. Now, older and have better resources/series to compare it to... meh. The premise was basic, and the main girl was annoying and overall a stereotypical heroine. The only saving grace would have to be Rei. His story and character development was fantastic. The carrying guilt between him and his brother, his dreams of becoming a racer, etc. It really blew me away. I agree with another user that this would be better as a drama rather than romance. There is a few tv show drama adaptations of this series if anyone is interested "Mars: Tada Kimi wo Aishiteru (MARS～ただ、君を愛してる～)" with a film of the same name and a Taiwanese tv show adaptation. (I'm honestly curious on why there's so many Taiwanese tv show adaptations of so many Japanese mangas. e.g. "Boys Over Flowers", "Prince of Tennis", etc.)
Anyway, sorry that I got sidetracked. I would've rated this a possible 8.2 if it was a drama instead. Rei was so THERE that I forgot about all the other characters except him, which is saying something since Kira is supposed to be our protagonist. I would still recommend this to others.
