Mixed Feelings
I’m not into sports but something about this just intrigued me, the majority of this is really good. The quality drops halfway through when the tournament starts, I thought the first half with the friendly battles was much more intense. It was also a lot more character driven, the latter focusing more in the game, think they play it for about 4 episodes straight which dragged on. There was a really good episode in the latter half called “ Senpai's True Abilities” which changed it up making the story more character focused again. The latter half also build up so many competitors that you kind of knew how it was going to happen as well. Also for some bizarre reason they give Kageyama a flashback to establish his history with someone, that could have worked but given he met that person in episode 7 and they didn’t even greet each other, it just felt very forced and out of place.

What I really liked about this series, is the characters they’re all fleshed out and are a bunch of lovable losers, in their own right. I hope the next season is a lot more like the first half and focuses more on the people instead of the game.
