As someone who has no knowledge of Devilman and Cyborg 009 I was curious to see how I'd react to this crossover. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very accessible. I understood the character motivations, I understood the very brief backstory that is explained, and I could identify how meaningful this story can be.
Unfortunately, it felt more like a 009 story than Devilman, and after part 1, Devilman seemed to go by the wayside.
In the end, we see a naked demon boy, naked psychic projections, and an expected underwhelming defeat of the villain.
This made me more interested in 009 and Devilman, but this three-part mini crossover is just okay.
