Inyushiki is a story about power, humanity, and 2 different generations.

Inyushiki is a story about what these 2 different generations of people do with this power, yin and yang, black and white. An old man, on his last days and a normal teenager/young adult like most of you and even me. Someone who's lived a long life and someone who is still in their early and immature years.

The core of the series is the reflection of both of these characters who one day lost their humanity due to a higher extraterrestrial power, and are given a new chance at life by hurry.

Inyuashiki is our main hero, and unlike most protagonists is a 58 year old office worker, and only had 3 months left to live. Shishigami is an atypical teenager, he loves manga yet doesn't care much about others. He sees life as a game at times. After the accident both characters are reborn as machines capable of destroying or even saving humanity.

The series takes a lot of time to reflect how they use their powers, Inuyashiki uses it to save people in danger and of diseases, while Shishigami uses his powers to kill innocents, both actions help both characters feel human in their own nature. We see their worlds, their actions, how they perceive each other.

I see a lot of people who love Inyushiki, as do I as he is the message that our older generation can be wise and important. At the beginning he is heavily ignored, pushed around, and alone. Similar to Shishigami in a way, Shishigami is using his powers to kill, steal money, and get his kicks, something probably anyone would do. People hate this character saying there is no relatable features to him yet most people would do those exact kinds of things that he started out doing, there's always someone you hate, or something you want and that's what makes Shishigami so endearing, and eventually his actions get the best of him and everything begins crashing down even when he tries to rectify his actions. He's so stuck in his power fantasy at times and is oblivious to other people is what makes his character sad, as if he never was human to begin with.

There's honestly so much more I could say about there series in discussion but I wanted to get my initial thoughts out.
