Nabari No Ou was certainly not your typical shounen ninja anime. It starts off introducing us to a pretty normal middle school student named Miharu who unknowingly holds a power many others are after called the Shinrabanshou. I like how it pretty much just jumped right into the plot. So Miharu is pretty much being pursued by a bunch of modern day ninjas the whole time because they want the Shinrabanshou's power for their own often selfish reasons.

The character bonds developing and breaking is what this anime is mostly about. It tends to slip away from ninjas and fighting and ends up being about friendship and and deep feelings. There is a thin line between the "bad guys" vs. "good guys" The main character avoids trying to pick sides and has an independent mind.


If youre more into action I would say this might not be for you. If you like animes with deep characters who have a wide range of personalities than I would definitely recommend.
