tl dr; A good anime to watch on a daily basis
Even though, this anime Handa-kun is full of funny, stupid moments that you can probably find in any other slice of life/comedy plot set in a high school, I believe it is better than a majority of those other similar anime JUST because of how good its ending was.

In general:
There's no fantasy element, no romance, no drama--none of those common themes we see in all sorts of films, books, and anime that is overdone to make it seem "unique" than others. All we have is our boy Handa-kun and the stupid events that end up happening because he thinks everyone at school hates him when its the opposite in actuality.

When you begin watching:
The first episode may feel a bit odd, like a 4th wall breaking moment almost, but just bear through it, and you'll get how things go from Episode 2 on. The reactions of Kawafuji, (who is still pretty much the only friend our guy has even in high school) and just him in general is the only "sane" person in this anime tbh lol
And I'm glad that he fit in so perfectly with all these fanatics around.

My thoughts after watching it without spoiling it:
I'm probably looking too deep into this, but when something sad or traumatic happens, we all tend to just focus on that one negative aspect of whatever it is, and completely ignore all the rest. And that really showed in Handa with his black, "mysterious", and "cool" wall of aura that he carries around throughout his school. I don't think it could have been illustrated in any other way that makes it suitable for a comedy setting like this.
