READY?

That's how I felt prior to watching this movie. However me nor any Haruhi can truly be prepared for the absolute masterpiece of animation and cinema that is The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Story: 10/10
Our story begins a few months after the second season. It is now December and the SOS brigade is preparing a Christmas eve party. That is until Kyon wakes up the next morning only to find his world has completely changed. Haruhi is nowhere to be found, Mikuru doesn't recognize him and Yuki is well, you'll see. Now Kyon must make his greatest decision yet. Does he really want the old world back or is he happy with his new normal life?

Art: 10/10
KyoAni does it again. Simply put this movie is friggin gorgeous. From the characters to the backgrounds and everything in between it is stunning to say the least. Everytime I rewatch it I find something new that makes me smile.

Sound: 10/10
The music is very well done. Especially the song that plays during Kyon's monologue near the end of the movie. They even brought back the original season 1 opening theme song "Bouken Desho Desho?" Nice touch guys.

Characters: 10/10
Haruhi takes a back seat on this one folks if you can't already tell by the name of the movie. Kyon is still the male lead while Yuki steps up to the plate as the female lead. While Yuki (Minori Chihara) doesn't have a lot of lines, she makes up for it in cuteness. On the other hand, Kyon has a TON of lines, but his voice actor (Tomokazu Sugita) is amazing so listening to him talk all day is a pleasure. Most of the recurring side characters also make appearances with a surprise guest as well.

Enjoyment: 10/10
The enjoyment factor is huge for this. I think I've watched it at least 6-7 times now and I still get chills down my back or tear up at certain points. It just never gets old and that's what the true defining factor in a great movie is for me. Would you want to watch it over and over again and I can safely say that this movie has that and then some.

Overall: 50/50
Come on. How could I not give this a perfect 50. It has everything. If you're a Haruhi fan and you haven't watched this movie yet, then I ask you one question.
