Another phenomenal work from Wits Studio, the familiar motor bike sound at the start of every episode, is sure to take your breath away moments later. Vinland saga is impeccable in its creative realism. Every character is based on real life lore and then being faithful to the source material. Debauchery, acts of indecency i.e. rape, murder, alcoholism and pillaging villages thoroughly, is a routine activity for vikings in medieval period. This is an incredible depiction of vikings and of unspoken evil.

Story: 10/10
Incredible woven story that keeps you at the edge of your seat, anticipating for every moment that would wow you. The world building is very detailed leaving little room to be criticized. Moments in time leaping are well thought out and battle scenes are just about the best in the industry.

Art: 9/10
Almost impeccable in detail, snow, blood ,deep and shallow cuts are well drawn. Only losing to too many snow scenes, and not as detailed compared to something like Violet Evergarden or Made in Abyss.

Sound:7/10
Above average opening and ending. The ending was pretty good and the opening was decent. Nothing super outstanding but nothing too shabby. All around good music used either in battles or when there is a change in ambiance in the anime.

Character:10/10
This is a very unique relationship between Thorfinn and Askeladd. The two main lead have the relationship of arch enemies and family. I urge you to watch the anime to find out more. They have very interesting power balance that Askeladd ahve complete control over Thorfinn. Yet, in Askeladd mind he was always teaching Thorfinn in hopes that one day he would leave the nest and be free just like what his father Thors would want him to. Canute the prince is a very interesting character, but his development in the lat few episodes are rapid and a lot development happened in the last few episodes. It was rather sad that everything ended answered rhetorically,

Enjoyment: 9/10
Nothing to complain about except the final episode where we are greeted with the best ending and the ending that feels right. It was an ending that feels right but does not feel good. It leaves you in a state of melancholy, wanting more Vinland Saga and yet it feels like there might be no season 2. Just like No Game No Life.

Overall: 9/10
Just about the best anime in 2019. Truly exalted, I cannot recommend more. Not for the light hearted, as it gets dark and dark very quickly.
