However, once I got past most of the parts of the story I remembered and the character introductions, I found myself opening up to this remake quite happily and taking my time to enjoy the episodes (and the really nice music)
It does a really good job of setting the tone for the main plots it follows from the manga. I also really appreciate how much they're taking their time to establish the characters and the story this time around too and that they're really including all the characters from the manga.
My favourite episodes in this season have to be the ones dedicated to Uojima and Hanajima's backstories which basically got full episodes dedicated to them and made me pretty dang emotional. You can tell they're really doing their best to follow the manga plot and be true to it.
While the old anime has a certain charm and a special place in my heart, I am growing more fond of this remake, and having read the manga fully, am totally looking forward to the next season!!
