Originally, the story and world seemed shallow to me but it really develops over the course of the anime and I'm sure the manga is very similar (working on reading it). It's almost like finding out more about how the world works with the characters.
The animation is very well done during fight scenes and above average normally. Fight scenes in this show are nothing short of beautiful and they're able to be entertaining even after watching multiple times.
Sadly, a drawback from this show is the characters in my opinion. They're unique and all, but I think that some of the character tropes in this anime cause the show to be less intense during certain parts that make some episodes a lot less entertaining than they could've been.
