The government finds about them and they are captured when still young and kept under a special organization, where they are experimented upon, more to say tortured. Lucy one of the most feared of them escaped the facility, more like coolly walks out of it killing everyone in her way. She is hit by a high caliber rifle, before falling into the sea. The bullet grazes her head and she ends up at a beach with no memory of who she is, even doesn't remember how to speak. She is found by two teenagers, Kouta and Yuka, who take care of her.
What does the organization do to get her back, why do they need her so bad, why are Diclonius so special, what special connection does Lucy have with Kouta, will Lucy's inner personality ever wake up again, all these questions make this a great anime. One worth to be seen in a single day (I did so).
Great opening and ending, just love them.
