The New Adventures of Old Yato

I think the thing I liked the most about Noragami was its worldbuilding. All through out the 12 episodes we learn more and more about the world, never in a way that drags the pace of the episode down and always leaves you wanting to learn more. While the world is very interesting, its undeniable that the focus of the series is how our main characters interact with this universe and each other. Unfortunately for me this is exactly the part that felt kind flat for me. While I liked most of the characters individually and their interactions with each other are amusing, I felt that most of the drama that came from this relationships was caused by characters not talking to each other (this was specially true in the Yukine arc) which at least for me feels very cheap. I also personally felt like the main ship paring was kind lackluster, with their relationship always feeling more platonic with the romantic elements shoehorned in.
Overall, I still feel like the good outweigh the bad in the case of Noragami, which makes it a solid 7 for me.

What I Loved
The OST – I cannot stress this enough: this OST is amazing. The blend of older traditional instruments with synth like distortions is perfect for a show about an old god trying to find its new place in a modern world. Especial shout out to Noratan my favorite track and an absolute banger

What I Liked
The progressive world building
Interesting magic system – Really enjoyed seeing how each god interacted with their respective regalia
Animation and voice acting – animation is stellar as is always expected from Bones. The voice acting fits perfectly for every character (the only one I didn’t specially care for was Rabou)

What I have mixed feelings
Yukine’s arc – or the classic: drama caused by lack of communication
The main ship
