If you're going into the anime adaptation expecting to be able to watch it instead of playing the game, you're not going to enjoy this. The pacing is abysmal, spending way too much time on the early story and not leaving enough time for the conclusion. If you HAVE played the game, it's just fine. Akechi has more screen time in the anime than in the game, so if you're a fan of him then your enjoyment will definitely be higher. If you don't like him, well, you'll probably hate the anime and feel like he took away from whoever your favorite is.
The anime is good as supplementary material to the game, but doesn't hold up very well on its own.
