This show really reminds me of MHA. Both are fine series without any major 'flaws', but despite getting praised as the greatest achievements of mankind, neither really bring much new to the table besides great action animation and character design.
The story and its structure aren't particularly unique, and even plenty of the battle concepts are pretty familiar. By the end of the show I was begging for an end to all the lame tragic backstories. The character designs are unique and mostly appealing, but the characters themselves are mostly one note and by the end, the series has introduced three characters who all annoyingly scream just about everything they say.
Ufotable is definitely one of the master studios when it comes to CG integration, and it shows when they use that to their advantage, but when they use it as a means of streamlining background characters or less important things instead of elevating a scene, the models always stick out like a sore thumb.
Otherwise, it's a perfectly functional series I've seen hundreds of times. Nothing wrong with that, but not a lot to praise or talk about, honestly.
