Story: 8
The openness and unique world generation are what give this rating an 8. The universe in which Akame ga Kill takes place in is very captivating and is interesting enough to grab most viewers' attention. In terms of plot, however, the show actually falls short compared to the manga it's based on. While this is probably due to the fact that the anime aired much faster than the manga, the overall rushing of the plot was disappointing and led to uncalled for ends for a lot of loveable characters.
Art: 7
The characters are unique and distinguishable from the others; however, I would say that it isn't anything that you haven't seen before.
Sound: 10
The soundtrack was great and does an amazing job of highlighting the situations the characters found themselves in. It really helped set the tone and mood of each scene and played a pivotal role in illustrating the emotions behind each event.

Character: 9
This should be a 10. The one thing that is gating this from receiving a score of 10 is that the characters die off so quickly that you cannot form a proper attachment to them. For example, the character Chelsea is introduced in episode 11 and given about 10 minutes of screen time then promptly killed off. She seemed like a very likeable addition to the squad, but the audience is never given the opportunity to form any meaningful relationship with the character before her immediate demise.
Enjoyment: 8
While the pace at which characters were killed off definitely offset this score, the fights that they did participate in as well as the quirky moments at home in the base really made the anime enjoyable to watch.
Overall: 8
An anime cannot make it to the top of the ranks without a solid storyline, and it's in this department that Akame ga Kill lacks. The characters, setting, and depiction of the show are phenomenal in their own way, but the hurriedness of the executions really held back its potential.
