You come across the Hero mainly (Simon), then the Hero placed so that the Hero mainly develops the plot, (Kamina), just ahead comes the Heroine of the plot, (Yoko), placed in the plot so that both main / secondary heroes know the outside world.
That said, the charter that comes forward is information and struggle, revolution against the difference between human, rich and poor. In this case, who is above the surface is rich, who is below the surface is poor. It is not wealth but power, powers that only serve to pilot a giant robot.
Gurren Laggan is by far one of the best anime, I speak of history, scenery, characters, development, directing, animation. Director Hiroyuki Imaishi directed as an anime in which the Hero mainly (Simon) is not very effective within the plot itself, so develop the secondary (Kamina) so that at some point in his loss, put the Hero mainly in the phase of development and embrace the option of being makes it stronger. Saka ?! Kamina just appears to push the whole story he's not a hero who would go too far, just served as a rope.
More then, let's talk and summarize all the anime scenario and information if you get lost in the media animation, and dying, robot-filled characters.
The Hero mostly finds a mini robot dug into the bottom surface, and next to the secondary and heroine, go outside to face danger and try to survive in that catastrophe. (this is the story). They discover the truth behind the scenes, and try to rebel against the king so that everyone may have the same calm and soothed life. (this is development). you ask: what are robots? I answer you, they are robots that were created as a weapon to oppress people who wanted to find a way to survive on the surface. more and the evolution of the robot? well, it's just a way that the Hero mainly gets power to deal with robots and villains. You see! anime is just that, you may have had another idea, but that's the real premise of anime.
I still have my criticisms, I don't want to make this post big, so I just reported what the anime itself shows, and how it's approached.
