First of all, what's a good show? Well, for me a good show, anime or not, should be able to create its own structures, establish a relation of empathy with the viewer and give an important contribution for the world, as critical or acritical portrait of something. Some shows develop in the field of fantasy, but are able to create parallels with modern day life.
Kimi Ni Todoke is not only a good show. Is an almost perfect show. I'm not a person who gives a 10 rating easily, but I couldn't say no to this particular anime. Why? I'll tell you!

STORY:
The best plots are, sometimes, based on conceptual nihilism, and Kimi Ni Todoke is a perfect example of that. In the tradition of the shoujo genre, this anime's action takes place in nowadays Japan, within a 10th Grade class. Sawako is a student that can't fit in the social groups that surround her, and she is most times misinterpretated and thought to have supernatural habilities.
The pacing, developing and inteligent cliffhangers really brought something extra to it. There's also, I think, a bit of reality distortion according to Sawako's point of view, as in the personality of Kazehaya, that could be some sort of japanese Jesus Christ.

ART:
The somewhat alternative styling in characters and the watercolour based cenarios are magical, and really push you deeper into the world of Kimi Ni Todoke. Also, the use of chibi and exageration of expressions, such as in Kare Kano, will help you create a relation of empathy with the characters and feel some nostalgia while watching scenes that remind you of your school days.

SOUND:
Both opening and ending song are excelent, not my kind of music, but the right one for Kimi Ni Todoke. The in-show music is also good, sometimes with piano or guitar versions of the OP and END songs. I pretty much enjoyed all the toons for relaxed/comical moments.

CHARACTER:
This is the really trump card of Kimi Ni Todoke.
Sawako is a perfect character at all levels. Her reactions and unability to socialize and the evolution suffered after meeting her friends, Chizu and Yano, are very reasonable and realistic. She is the anime girl you will fall in love easily.
Chizu and Yano are the counter-balances of Sawako, and they are responsible for her evolution as a social person.
Actually Kazehaya is the first responsible for that, but only further will he have a more important role within Sawako's life, although he is, basicly, the object of her motivations.
It is the realism and affectivity related to the characters that make Kimi Ni Todoke an awesome and kawaii show.

ENJOYMENT:
So, in conclusion, I loved Kimi Ni Todoke, and is a pleasure for me to review it and recommend it to you.
