Probably the best thing about Death Note is the dynamic story that has you enthralled throughout the entire 25 episode story. L and Light's interesting dichotomy and intense religious symbolism, as well as the wonder of watching L and Light clash.

The sound REALLY punctuates every moment of the show, especially shit that probably wouldn't be nearly as exciting without the insane ost, such as the infamous potato chip scene. The OP is also insane.
Character: 10
The characters are extremely dynamic and fluid, their intelligence is not treated as just a plot device, like a certain white-haired kid, can't remember his name though. Sometimes both Light and L are sent down wrong trains of thought just because its the most reasonable thing for them to assume at the time.
