tl;dr: A solid continuation that's just as good as its predecessor.

I was expecting this to be a side story like filler somewhat disconnected from where the main series left off since even though chronologically it's after, it was released before the first series ended. Hence, I was surprised that that wasn't the case, and that this was a solid continuation of the main series that felt like it picked up right where the main series left off and continued progressing their relationship and cranking up the intensity in the same manner. Just as with the main series, the progress is slow and steady and something that the two involved don't want to admit, but it's very much there and clearly evident to the reader, so I was very much satisfied in that regard. This series wasn't as long as the main series though still decently sized and was structured a bit differently, focusing only on a few days but chronicling them in great detail and with the singular gimmick of the core relationship being affected by others, so I feel to a very light degree it more so than the main series felt like it was dragging on a bit at times, but it still very much carried the essence of what makes the main series great and essentially all the praise I had for the main series can be carried over to this as well so I have a pretty hard time separating it from the main series and hence view it just as favorably.

I will say this though: The ending to the main series felt more final and complete as an ending. This being after that sort of disrupts that and makes me want a sequel series to this a lot more than I wanted one after the ending to the main series. I don't think that's a criticism though, just something I wanted to say.
