Nana (Anime) add (All reviews)
Jun 3, 2019
This is one considerably late review coming in & the irony in that is that Nana is one of my favorite series.

Among the slice of life works I've seen, this is one of my firsts & my magnum opus of the genre so far. I tell my friends about it, I listen to the soundtrack still & I just love it.

There are so many things I love about Nana. It sells an intricate plot line, the character cast is impressive & the music is great.

Going through Nana from start to finish was like a prospect of finding something real, in that, the way relationships have been portrayed & characters developed throughout 47 episodes was so down-to-earth & borderline real. I'm not necessarily a sucker for romance & drama per say, but I've enjoyed the story so much. There have been so many instances where everything could go wrong, but thankfully that didn't happen. The story is set up in a way that's relatable & that could make you find yourself to be emotionally connected to every event & character. The same goes for the character cast really.

The only thing I didn't like is the art, not that I'm the only one really, though predominantly character art. The characters look too thin, tall though that's probably the standard of shoujo works by far so I'm not surprised. If I were to watch this again, I don't see why I couldn't get behind it again.

The characters & story is the meat of Nana, & a very good piece at that. Overall, personally, a suggested watch from me.
