Hyouka (Anime) add (All reviews)

This anime was almost a solid 10 on my actual list imo, if weren't for the rushed ending. The contents in the last few episodes should have been saved for an OVA or something. It sort of swerved away from the main focus and general themes the anime stood by imo. Either way, Ill give it a 10 here just because I loved the show so much, regardless of it's minuscule flaws.

This is sort of gonna be a disoriented and choppy review but should be understandable at the core. First interesting point. This is a very unique show from KyoAni. It is contains unusual, satisfying aesthetic. Which isn't something you see from KyoAni primarily. Probably my favorite KyoAni show at heart. Great themes. Great Characters. Cute in ways. Great mystery and environment. And more importantly in this case, it contains an infinitely satisfying meticulousness. Oreki Houtarou is a very great and favorable character that I can relate to. Well constructed.

Basically in sum, the anime establishes a really interesting world undiscovered by its individually dynamic characters. Oreki Houtarou, the self proclaimed conventional, energy conservationist, finds himself surrounded by a very rampantly curious, cute girl, Eru Chitanda, and his other friends. Throughout the story Oreki is dense to the fact that he has a skill for uncovering mysteries and small anomalies with his inventive, ingenious brain. However, Oreki is a very enclosed and conserving, uneventful person simultaneously. Eventually his friends help him realize that he is significantly and influentially eccentric and beyond what one would label normal as an individual. He is the antithesis of what he claims. The anime builds a very conventional theme surrounding the fact that avoiding things and being dense of one's self and skills, etc isn't necessarily positive, nor the best way to solve something. Evoking your quirky, eccentric, and ingenious traits builds true character and sincere individuality, and can ultimately influence others, even if it expends energy lmfao.
