It's just another, generic, unimaginative isekai... which slowly deviates and turns into a harem, brilliant.
Sadly this show has just gone to the shitters for me, it started off well but took a huge down turn.
Story- The plot is just your average Joe plot, with a few flaws thrown into it. The MC gets shit on for no real reason only for him to become an EPIC hero who everyone loves and adores. Granted the show hasn't been out long enough for us to see the latter part, but I can already guess at how this show will end. It's completely uninspired and unoriginal. The antagonists do a decent job at antagonising but their reasons behind doing so are flawed, boring and plain old stupid.
Art- Its fairly normal, nothing new, unique or amazing about it. Its not Ufotable but it definitely isn't Berserk 2016. Its (once again) unoriginal, and has no unique style, It's not going down in history as a new change or style, and it will not be remember'd. The world design is rather 'interesting', probably the 'best' part about the show is learning about its different kingdoms and how they treat different situations... but that's looking at it in a light sense, to be brutally honest even this isn't as interesting as you would imagine.
Sound- Once again, its unoriginal. Ep 15 had some nice music to it, set the scene nicley. The opening and endings wont be remembered, at least for me (we all have different music tastes). They could've done a lot more with the themes and setting scenes but they did a decent enough job at it.
Character- The worst part of this show is its god awful characters, which is surprising to say given its piss poor story. The MC is generic, no background or interesting personality, he's very bland and dense. He looks generic, sounds generic and feels generic, and of course he's the main character so we've got to make sure he only does good for the people! Whilst the rest of the kingdom look down on him. It made no sense to me why he would work so hard to help so many people in a world he's never been to before, for what? nothing, I was thinking he was doing it to prove to the kingdom that he isn't 'bad' and try to fix his own reputation, but no the dipshit didn't even do that, he literally did it for a box of food or some dumb shit.
The other 3 hero's... of course they know everything, OF cOuRse they do bad stuff, or doing impulsive things such as helping a rebellion. You guessed it, generic!
Rapthalia, Filo, Melty ect Fanservice, they've done nothing unique, they're... once again... generic! Rapthalia has some backstory, which is nice! but it doesn't help that her personality boils down to 'generic waifu of 2019!' it breaks my heart to see such a generic character being pushed so far up the chain to the point where she's actually mainstream. Loli's... ay I don't mind a good loli but let me say this, I didn't come here to watch a harem, I wanted to see an Isekai that would stir the mix a little bit, but no, sadly all the Lolis boil down to "OwO master" this and "UwU master" that, Melty is just a piss poor excuse to try to connect the Shield hero to some form or royalty to fix his situation (again another amazing flaw to the plot, but I won't mention this as much because it could be explained nicely in the later episodes).
Not enjoyable, generic, harem, cliche... this show became too mainstream for its own good, its in the shit fire along with SAO.
If you're honeslty enjoying it, go ahead I'm glad, if you're thinking of watching this, don't get lured into its 'good' first few episodes, it takes a huge turn for the worst...
