High Score Girl: Extra Stage. It's called this, but to say that it's "Extra" would not be true at all, as episode 12 ended on a cliff hanger even Teen Titans 2003 would be impressed with. A better name would have been "Final stage", like Inital D does.
Back to actually reviewing the show/ova, it picks up right after ep 12 of season 1. Haruo has been challenged by Hidaka, who serves as Sans to Oono's Asgore. Hidaka gets her challenge, and her arc gets a completion. Then comes what you really want, more of Haruo and Oono trying to make their way to each other through their struggles, the main obstacle being Oono's family teacher. A concept that sounds like an anime villain even in real life. Haruo, with the help of a new character from Oono's family, finally designs a solution perfectly fitting the video game motif of the show. At the end we get a happy ending, a supposed season 2, and an Eva reference. Sounds as though the creators are team Asuka. (sould just be promotion for the new eva dub on netflix too.)
Overall, these last 3 episodes tie everything up into a nice bow, exactly how you'd want them to, and do so while still making use of the wonderful op and ed. Glad this is a show that actually got an ending, not all anime can say that. *cough* No Game No Life *cough*
Score: 7/10.
P.S.; I would have put this out around a week sooner, but my Pirate crew of choice didn't have it out on the release date MAL said, hence this is a bit later than preferred. oh well.
