TL;DR: Do you want a semi- romantic story that involves age gaps but doesn't involve any sex or any kind of abuse? Then this show just might be for you. This show is cute, charming and really showcases the beauty of friendship and understanding. I highly recommend it to anyone honestly.

Now first off let me be clear by saying that just because I personally gave this anime a ten, that doesn't mean I think it's perfect or that every single person has to like it. Part of it is obviously personal but I mean that's to be expected I believe.

Moving on, let me start by saying that it deeply saddens me that some look at this show at a first glace assume it's just some weird fetish filled mess that has pedophilia involved. When it couldn't be further from the truth.
It's sad that there's real, legitimate cases of gross or sexually harmful anime that go unchecked simply because they're so taboo that they sorta go unnoticed by the average viewer, but I saw some ignorant people blatantly going after this show.
I don't like using the word ignorant, but in this case there we're a decent amount of people who just saw this and judged it without even bothering to do research it seems.

I'm someone who like's age gaps in stories, when done properly I think they can be very interesting stories and show how anyone can care for someone regardless of age (I'm speaking of adults however, not involving kids. That's a whole different story) so of course when I saw this I was excited.
HOWEVER. Since sadly age gaps in stories tend to be harmful, abusive or portrayed as a fetish. I did my research on this before going in.
Thankfully, this is adapted form a manga, so it was fairly easy to research and find out that the story is actually very positive and sweet.
After finding that out, I definitely wasn't disappointed.

Be prepared however that this is not an action or even drama packed story. And that's what I liked about it.
Normally with stuff involving age gaps, there always has to be some added drama or some kind of negative overtone. And sure there were obviously times where in the show the age gap had to be addressed by the characters, but it was never really done in some overly negative way.

In simple terms, this show is about a seventeen year old girl recovering from an injury, during that time she met an older man who captivated her and the show is basically about her adventures in loving him and working alongside him at the same cafe she met him in. There's some drama along the way, along with new discoveries and the difficulties she has with her best friend at school.
But without giving spoilers I'd say this show is more about friendship and just generally loving someone more than romantic love.

I honestly feel like this is a show everyone should see at least once in their life. It really showed me the importance of the small events in our lives, and how love and feelings of love can come up at anytime, and even if they don't go anywhere, those feelings affect us and help us through parts of our lives.

In the end, this show is just such a feel good show for me. And hey it might not be for everyone, and that's fine. But if you have any interest at all I highly recommend at least trying it out.
And honestly, I wish I could have wrote this without addressing the negativity surrounding the basic idea of the show, but hey it's kinda hard to when a lot of people associate age gaps instantly with pedophilia or a fetish, which just isn't always the case. And I would LOVE to see more shows like this.

Also I totally realize that this show received a lot of praise as well, which is awesome. I just wanted to address the negative aspect for the sake of a reader who might be one of those people who's worrying the show is what some people thought.
