We can see here another work of art on sports, this time bringing not just all the violence and brutality of boxing in the eyes of the Japanese masters (Yo Moriama in this case) but also presenting a subliminal message being unraveled only in the end of the show.

The whole major question of the main characters revolves around overcoming, a constant struggle against their own origins, an endless duality, a great question of identity crisis, which in fact occurs literally and not just metaphorically.

Megalobox surprises with a soundtrack made with care, perfectly translating the high and low moments of each episode. Coupled with a good character construction for a series of 13 episodes, the final package boils down to a work of art not to be missed, whether you are fond of boxing or not.
