Preliminary (8/? chp)
When I first saw the cover of this manga and read the tags, I was worried that it was going to be yaoi between the master and the apprentice. I don't mind yaoi, but I find the stories that center solely on the different ways the characters would end up sleeping together rather boring. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case.

Story:
As far as I managed to read, the story is a combination of slice of life and mystery. Ravel the apprentice lives his life learning sorcery, going to school with his friends and going on journeys with his master, while the mysteries about the world and the character's past are gradually being revealed.

Art:
The manga is drawn in a messy style with lines that are a bit fuzzy instead of the typical clean style and the backgrounds are rather dark, but I think that the art goes well with the tone of the story.

Characters:
Aside from the two main characters, Lee and Ravel, there is a cast of side characters who are all, if not well developed, at least interesting. The main characters themselves have distinct personalities and quite an interesting dynamic (wise world-weary teacher and an optimistic naive child) that is fun to observe.

Overall, I would say that while this manga will not be the most enthralling thing you will ever read, it is interesting enough to keep your attention and keep you reading. Unfortunately, it isn't completely scanclated and ends on a cliffhanger. Also, while yaoi does happen in the story, it is not all that prominent, so if that's all you are looking for, look elsewhere.
