Goblin Slayer is about a man who, well, slays goblins. This anime is definitely very graphic and shows scenes of rape and goblin brutality. If you do not like rape this show probably isn't the one for you.

Story: 7/10
The story is simple but entertaining and includes a nice twist at the end of each arc. It's also quite unique how the world of Goblin Slayer is heavily inspired around Dungeons and Dragons. The episodes of daily life in between battle and dungeon diving episodes is a nice breath of fresh air as it also builds the world around Goblin Slayer. However, the pacing is rather too fast with battles often starting and ending in one episode.

Art: 6/10
Animated portions are pretty standard quality, and would have been given a 7. However, there is quite a few bit CGI sprinkled scenes throughout the episodes. Immersion is ruined when you go from a fairly decent art style to a suit of walking armor in CGI.

Sound: 7/10
A nice melancholic opening really does justice in showing the tone of the series. But that does not mean that it's void of adrenaline pumping music, reserved for action scenes and battles.

Characters: 8/10
Having a nice array of characters is very nice. Although first seemingly bland, Goblin Slayer is a very enjoyable character. His awkwardness around the other characters is enjoyable to watch.
The side characters and other party members are also very enjoyable in their own right, together they have a nice dynamic party.

Overall while the series is pretty decent having nice characters, an enjoyable story, it's shortcomings is very evident. as mentioned before, the CGI armor is very off-putting and takes you out of the anime as it switches between scenes of animation and CGI. The story pacing is too fast, with battle starting and boss battles ending in the same episode. The series would benefit from having more episodes as it gives time to flesh out the scenes.

Overall: 7/10
