Mixed Feelings
There are times when you watch a certain movie and get that empty feeling after finishing it. Like you were emotionally engaged with the show and felt sad after it ended. Movies and shows that lasts a everlasting effect on you and you would LOVE to recommend that thing to everyone else.

I want to Eat your Pancreas HOWEVER isn't one of those movies.
I have really mixed feelings about it. I kinda liked it but at the same time I absolutely hate it as well.. Ah screw it and let's get down to it.

So, the movie starts with showing how one of the students have passed away and there's a guy (who I thought at first was her lover) was lying on the bed and was sad. And then the actual story starts.

Now you would wonder that this will be a movie with great romance and stuff like that but NO and honestly I am totally fine with it BUT the problem and I mean SERIOUS problems I had was the interaction between the both Main characters. They have LITTLE TO ZERO chemistry between them and their interactions were shoved on the faces of the viewers to the point that people would just get used to it so whenever they play an emotional scene with them legitimately getting closer the viewers would drool over and would label it as "Character development" MEH.

Main character was your generic typical garbage type with "No friends" completely anti-social because it's "Cool" being like that way. Basically like that dead ass from Classroom of the Elite but this time he actually "Smiled" HURRRAYYY!!!! CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Pfftt

Main girl was a legit THOT. No two ways about it. Forcing herselff on the guy who doesn't give two shits about her and seeing her trying to tease him in some "Sexual" ways was a real pain to sit through and watch.

There's that one "Most Handsome" type who was rejected by the girl just for the sake of it.

There was your typical over-protective girl who was friends with "Girl" main character and TBH I don't hate her. Not one bit. Her reactions made sense(To me, at least).

What really didn't make sense was AGAIN the interactions between the guy and the girl and how it all started.

So basically, the Main Character "Guy" was waiting for his turn to come in the hospital and found a book which was left by someone there and since he have no manners he decided to take a look inside it and while he was looking at it the owner of the book came and ask him to return it to her BUT before discussing my thoughts what happened afterwards I am gonna go a little off-topic here.

What if some of you people come to me and say "Man that 9/11 incident was so tragic and so many people died and how hard the times were for their families". Now, if I answered like "You don't say" or "Get over it". What would be your reaction? I bet it totally be like "Damn this guy is funny and hilarious" and how we ALL should be like him, right? BULLSHIT

Now, back to the movie. So this girl here (Sakura) realized that the dude have read the books and now know her "Little secret". So, she decided to tell her in a very serious tone that "She is about to die" and his response was "You don't say" or in other words "Go Fck yourself cuz I don't give two cents about your existence". THAT'S IT. She have now fallen head over heels for the guy to the point she is going out with him everywhere and even spent a whole night at a hotel with sharing the same bed and invited him to her house. Now, I wouldn't have mind it if the guy was a BIT LIKEABLE but to my surprise this dude was just dead inside like Completely BLAND that it was getting painful to see them together and was a legit torture to the eyes. How do people find this acceptable? And in the later half of the movie the guy started getting attached to the girl because CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Yeah yeah you can impress people with this half-assed forceful crap but I ain't buying it, sorry.
Now, the sudden change of events in the Anime was actually really nicely done and did surprise me and was probably the only good thing happened in the whole show. But even there I had a bit of a problem. *This scene might spoil the only good part if you haven't watched this movie yet so read it on your own responsibility* You see, if a girl is willing to do so much for you then you can at least go on and check up on her if she is being late. Like you did get the text "I am on my way" right? It's been 6 hours and all you do is sit there like a retard and went back to the home like a pathetic loser. Not giving two shits about what happened to her. Now, some people may portray this scene as "Main character was too afraid to go" but if he was truly afraid then his character didn't develop for shit.

In the ending parts of the movie there was this one scene, "The Diary reading" scene where the Main character read the things Sakura did with him before dying but what really bugged me was her last message.
How she was like "It was my fate to meet you and all my life was lead to this moment of meeting you" and "How you decided to spent time with me and decided to go on with my requests". Well, NOO. He was clearly uninterested in you from the beginning and all you did is forced him. He was forced to tag along with her all the time so her saying stuff like "He actually CARED for her this whole time" and was not actually being an Asshole was just so so out of place.

In the end, well, the guy became friends with the Girl(Sakura's friend named Kyoko") who hated him the most and started being a bit more social.

So basically from what I got, this movie was actually about "Haruki(Guy MC) overcoming his habit of being "Anti-social" and this girl "Sakura" was that ray of "Hope".

So, in other words this Movie was just a VERY POOR version of "Your Lie in April" and nothing else.

Now, I did kinda enjoy this movie to some extent during the second half though but honestly it's not as good as everyone says it is.
That's all. I know many people would still LOVE this movie though as they will watch it but I just simply didn't.
