The very concept of time travelling has always interested me, whether it's going back to the past to change the course of history, reliving the same day over and over again or going to the future to witness how the world has changed, no matter it's for a greater cause or for their own selfish desire. There are a lot of movies with this concept, ranging from Back To The Future, Looper, Before I Fall, Terminator to anime movie such as Kimi No Na Wa.

All of which holds the same concept, that is no matter how slightly the changes that you have made, there will always be consequences, the one thing that you couldn't count of and thus relating it to parallel universe theory, opening up to million of possibilities. Ironically, each movie has their own theory of how these things work.

Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo starts off promising with the lead female character discovering the power of time travel just by leaping through it, literally as she changes some small details in her middle school life for her own good and faced the consequences afterwards. Surprisingly, even following the movie closely, I must admit that I did not see that twist coming, connecting small details that seems unimportant, leading to a big reveal and where the lead female character has learnt her true feelings and a true goal for her unknown future.

Overall, I've not seen much anime with this concept and this anime is quite amazing in its own way, which holds more than just a simple plot of time travelling and its consequences but her character development from it, which is just beautiful.
