The main reason I started watching this anime is because I read that it was directed by Nagi no Asukara's director. I absolutely loved that anime, it was very enjoyable and full of emotions. So I thought this anime would be just as good. The result? Not at all.
It starts with a potentially interesting plot (no spoilers) so it kinda makes you curious about how it is going to end. But the thing is, after 9 episodes I watched, nothing related to the plot has happened. I'm surprised it is not considered a slice of life anime, because I asure you IT IS. Now I normally like slice of life IF they are somewhat enjoyable. This one just isn't, it's very veeeery boring. This is where my huge disappointment comes.
Now it has some good things like the animation, aesthetic and music. But of course that is just not enough to make a good anime. I feel like the creators thought this anime would be super popular just by being pretty or something.
I'm going to set my rankings. Story: 3/10. Extremely poor given the potential it originally had.
Art: 8/10. Quite beautiful and colorful.
Sound 9/10. I looove the music, it's magical. Not to mention Nagi Yanagi sings the ending so that's a plus.
Characters: 3/10. Do they even have personalities? No they don't. Only the Kohaku has one. Literally. Also the romances aren't well done at all. The main couple have 0 chemistry and are overall super boring to see...
Enjoyment: 4/10. No words needed, it's just not enjoyable.
Overall: 5/10. I honestly think it does not deserve any better, regardless of the end of the anime.
