First, this is another series by Kamachi Kazuma. Maybe you know him from the To Aru series, or Heavy Object, or something else.
This story focuses on the Summoning Ceremonies, the Summons and the Summoners. Though it presents a very "unusual" take on it, at least that's how I felt like.
I admit that, once I first gave this one a go, I quickly gave up due to how "different" the combat worked and how strange the world was. But, after a while, I found myself coming back to this and giving it another go. I mentioned the result of this at the start of this review.
I won't dive too deep into the story, both to avoid spoiling it for someone and because I feel like no matter how much I write, I won't be able to truly explain the story.
In short, the protagonist is Shiroyama Kyousuke. As he was on his merry way, he found a girl, Meinokawa Higan, being attacked and decided to help her. After which, Higan asks Kyousuke's help to save her sister, Renge. And so the story is set on motion.
Like I said before, I don't think I was able to explain it properly, but I'll be happy if it at least got you curious to check it out.
Lastly, what I'll say is that, although things might seems strange at first and you might have difficulty imagining the combat and whatnot, stick with this at least until the end of Volume 01. I guarantee you won't regret it.
