for violet evergarden both types exists and both are equally beautiful .. although for me i was interested more in the main story which occured in the past & history with the major .. if the main story was the present i would have given the anime the full score
well the emotionless main character slowly getting to know what feelings and emotions were , was relaxing and beautiful espically if it was accompanied with excellent animation and music and lines too ..
wether you like how the story was told or not , everything about the anime was on point .. it’s not an anime you would watch for a quick story but if you hae the time to relax and enjoy something deep
