Nigatsu no Eden has an enthralling narrative about a zoophiliac artist boy, Haruna, who met the cat-like Shiki. Their joint life had begun when Haruna found Shiki on the street, with a lot of injuries, and a mystic tattoo on his arm and back. Haruna brought him to his home, where the wounded boy acted like a scared little kitten. That was the moment when Haruna realized what an enthralling and engrossing person Shiki is, and he decided he would protect him from the man who injured him at all costs.

It does not have a story. You think it has, but you are wrong. It has 5+1 volumes, but they only talk about:
- how intriguing Shiki's tattoo is, and how Haruna wants to draw it, which isn't interesting,
- Haruna had a cat who ran away, which, again, isn't interesting,
- Shiki reminds Haruna of his lost cuuute cats, because Shiki is also cuuute so Haruna wants to make sexual intercourse with Shiki, which is weird.
There could be interesting things, like what happened with Shiki, or what Shiki's tattoo means, and who made it. And actually, we will know where lived Shiki before, so probably the guy who lived there with Shiki made the tattoo, but we don't know anything about that guy, not even his name, or why he knows Shiki.

Okay, I can't say anything wrong about Shiki, he is an engrossing character. We can't find out his past, at first he is wild and scared, but after a long while he becomes kind to Haruna. But Haruna is too common.

For me, it isn't very beautiful, but it's fine, as I have seen lots of worse mangas.

Enjoyment: 4
For me, it was boring and stupid. It brings up a lot of questions, but it doesn't answer any. And Haruna only wants to hold Shiki, because he reminds him of his cat, and he doesn't want to lose a cat again - it doesn't make any sense.
