To begin with, I have to say that I found this on a recommendation. I am by no means a cat person, or an animal person at that, but since it was so short, I decided to give it a try.
Honestly, this is less of a typical anime but more of a quiet retrospective work to watch a few minutes before bedtime or what you're feeling down and worthless. Trust me, especially if you have a pet, this will cheer you up. Since it's only a few minutes long, I won't go too in depth about the content so I won't spoil it, but it's simply a cat's thoughts about his owner. There's something simple and beautiful about it.
I've seen some people complain about the art, but in all honesty, I found the black and white simplicity to be quite pretty, along with the almost stop-motiony animation.
Since I watched a fandub after not being able to find a sub or an official dub, the sound really wasn't my favorite part of it all, but I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt since it wasn't the original work. I managed to look at non-english subs and I found the original Japanese to be quite soothing to listen to, almost like ASMR.
The characters are a little ambiguous, and I liked that about it. It could almost be about anyone, anywhere. It was simple and beautiful.
Overall, though I did enjoy it, as person who isn't really a pet person, I didn't get all feelzy like many others did over it. It was just simply a thought process for me.
I would recommend this if: you own a pet, you like cats, you own a cat, you like short (really short) anime, you get feelz over fluffballs, you are feeling down and need something to make you feel better
I would NOT recommend this if: you are looking for something super philosophical or deep, you're not a pet/animal person, you hate cats
Have a great day everyone!
