One of the things that defines a good anime to me is when it both stands the test of time and how it is when compared to other anime I watch. With those things in mind, I can't say enough how much I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I have watched ALOT series since watching it, and this one still ranks up very high for me, even almost 10 years later.

It's funny, I enjoyed the original FMA series so much back when this came out that I avoided this series, in fear that it would somehow make me upset at the mishandling of this series when compared to the original. I waited until the series was almost over before starting it, and in the end I kicked myself for denying myself this series. The story does get slightly weird at the end, but it cleans up nicely. The characters are great, and you get alot of new characters to follow and like to really set it apart from FMA. Art is good, this one has more comedy than the first series, and it is pretty well done. This is a great series for new or seasoned anime watchers, and for me serves as one of the series I use as a ruler on how other series measures up.
