The plot is nothing unexpected, with the usual battling against evil theme. Animation benefits from some unusual images, for example the villain looks like a very harmless clown and has a lair like an oversized nursery, but is nevertheless very creepy indeed.
The only point that really annoys me is the amount of soppy dialogue in this anime whenever something that even slightly resembles moral dilemma comes into play. It really just goes on and on. I get the sense even the script writers are embarrassed by this as they have a tendency to spoil the atmosphere with what feels like to me inappropriate moments of comedy. This could just be a case of lost in translation of course.
Overall good middle-of-the road action type anime without excessive demand for brain engagement, it's serving me well as a nice break between bouts of revision.
