5 students 1 teacher a city of zombies short skirts a love triangle and guns? what more could you want?
The storys pretty typical of your zombie take over yet its got mixture that pulls it apart for anything you've ever seen before. if you've watched the 2004 release of dawn of the dead and loved it then this is just the anime series for you.
The students of Fujimi High School find themselves in the middle of a zombie out break. Long time friends become the undead and attempt to eat them. they have to struggle their way out to look for their parents and get as far from the disaster as they can.
They end up relying on Takashi to give them calm and cool advice thrusting alot of responsibility on him. He manages to act the part a cool calm strong leader who does what ever is needed to save himself and any person they encounter while on the inside hes crying and doubting his own abilitys he continues to remain strong for the girl he loves and was dumped by...
Saeko and Kouta quickly become the offense of this little group one specializing in close quarter combat and the other a military weaponry specialist both with their own very unique personality and well...possibly clinically insane... not that many people are sane after zombie break outs....and it seems the insane are more prepared for such encounters...
Saya, Rei and Takashi make up what appears to be a love triangle but they hold back on romance due to their dire situations but with out Saya and Rei, Takashi would just be a stupid boy fumbling around or running for his life.
Takashi loves Rei even if her feeling for him have stoped he cant help but to want to protect her and knoing that he does what ever he must
but Saya has feeling for Takashi and with her ability's to analysis the situation and her vast knowledge give Takashi the information needed to make his judgments
A school nurse was also saved from their school and could come in handy if any thing were to go wrong...well except for bites....
the story is simple enough but has more complexity that can keep you glued to the screen
the arts typical of anime and keeps the blood to a reasonable level enough to know its a bad injury but not so much that its grotesque. the ladys are well formed not excessive ant not umm well not flat...
the sound fits the mood well doesnt over power you and the voices suit their characters a great match up better matched then naruto or one piece in my opinion
characters have a way of reacting to the situation that makes you think just what would you be like when zombies attack? they seem to cover many of the reactions a physiologist would predict and they have interactions with each other that capture the watcher
i enjoyed the manga very much and the anime is heading down the path to success theres not enough zombie animes out there and none of them can even try to compete with this one if this doesnt make it to some sort or godly status as anime then ill eat my hat
