Love is something that is so abstract, that anyone would interpret it differently to one another. Anyone can love anybody and in my opinion there’s nothing wrong with that. A certain anime caught my eye last season with a story of a blooming love of an innocent teenager for her manager at her workplace who doubles her age, hinting to anybody who watch this anime that there is no boundary for love and sometimes love could lead us to self discoveries and resolutions. This is an adaptation of manga created by Jun Mayuzuki, this is Koi wa Ameagari no You Ni or After the Rain.

The one that is really outstanding in this anime is of course its story and characters. While the story is centered on romance that blooming between a teenage girl and her manager, the story itself is never too focused on that, letting the back stories, side stories, and character developments grow the romance between the two so the story felt more natural as every resolution of a problem and character development will affect the relation between the two. I love this kind of story, the kind that slowly builds for the final, not rushing to the end and spend more time to have the characters developed themselves.

I would say that the opening and ending song of this anime really good. The ending song itself have stayed in my playlist for months. That song, Ref:rain by Aimer, is so much perfect to be played in this rainy season while having the rain fell on your body and wetted your clothes. While the ending felt much more melancholy, the opening felt much like a bright sun after the rain, bringing some happiness to start the anime. Having those two elements in the anime is really good and made me stay for much longer.

The animation and art style while not so upstanding, they have rated as acceptable for a romance anime. Romance or drama did not need an intense animation like action genre do but they need to do the perfect timing to show off their capabilities in animation and the studio did pull this off perfectly every time the girl went bubbly.

Overall, I could dub this anime into one of the anime of the season alongside Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho. The major flaw of this anime maybe not anyone could enjoy this anime. While I was enjoying this anime so much, I would not reccomend this anime to anyone who bothered with this kind of love. The one that involved a young woman with a man doubles her age. You need to have a mind set that anyone could love anybody before you could start to watch this anime.
