Finding the words to describe Cowboy Bebop proved to be more difficult than I imagined. The series is a true masterpiece of animation and one of few that genuinely deserves a 10 rating across the board.

Of all the elements in the show, the one worthy of special mention is the music score, composed by Yoko Kanno. It is undoubtedly some of the most atmospheric music of any series and one the show is best known for.

The plot is nonlinear. While each character has an underlying agenda, it is their environment that ultimately decides where life takes them. Scripting for the show is exceptional; episodes are nicely varied and the dialogue is very well-written and spoken from the mains to the supporting.

Besides the music, the next most recognizable aspect of the series is the characters. Each and every one of them has a meticulous design and personality, backed with outstanding art, fluid animation and excellent voice acting. All of this, combined with the aforementioned material, comes together in the form of realistically fleshed out and convincing figures.

Cowboy Bebop, in every regard, is a show of excellence. It more than backs its legacy and name among anime with painstaking visuals, beautiful music and believable characters. A must watch.
