Adapted from another light novel series by the author of Baccano. Durarara certainly has big shoes to fill, that isn't to say baccano foreshadows this show in the same way bebop foreshadowed champloo but there's definitely an analogy to be drawn.

Durarara starts off just like Baccano in fact the first 12 episodes are told in a nostalgically similar fashion, the viewer is presented with little bits and pieces to put together and each episode shows certain events from a different persons perspective, the first arc comes together and reaches its climax in the same way Baccano did. Inevitably the second arc doesn't have the same sense of mystery, you're no longer putting the pieces together you're being mouth-fed (like most normal shows) except it doesn't feel normal any longer I ended up missing the first half's mystery but I'm being overly critical the second half was enjoyable too, It focuses more on character development and the end isn't as climatic as the first arcs but it still satisfied me. All of the loose ends are tied up, a certain budding romance could have been detailed upon further but the show ends without doing so that's my only complaint about the ending. Just know this, if this show had ended in the middle i would have given it a 10, it gets a 9 though (which is still more than admirable)

The Characters are really what make this show (I LOVE CELTY!!!
