Cardcaptor Sakura is a very good anime about a young magical, sappy girl who discovers a card in the basement. In which another card includes an apparently genie-animal creature. The animal decides to call her: "Cardcaptor Sakura" (The name of the show) and help her fight bad guys and return them as cards. As she uses the cards that she's caught from the previous bad guys she'd fought, she becomes more smarter, confident, and determined in battles and become more elegant to people in her life. As she changes from a sappy, average-intelligence little girl to a confident and courageous one, she learns new things in life.
The show is very adorable. And I think females would love it. I don't think it's the most popular or best magical girl anime in the world, but all anime are pretty much like that. Shouja Chara! A Little Snow Fairy Sugar and Sailor Moon were all as most liked as this. But I think Cardcaptor Sakura is a very attractive anime and the artwork was done very beautifully.
