Soul Eater was one of the first 'real anime' animes I remember watching (Pokémon dubbed by 4Kids and Hamtaro I refuse to count) and this is still the longest anime I've seen at this point in time. So how do I feel about it?

Well, the story is pretty good. It's about teenagers going to a high school, but with a wacky twist besause normal is boring. People can turn into weapons and people are trained to fight and are sent on missions wow!
That's grossly over simplyfying the plot, but that's what I remember of it.

Animation and music are both pretty okay. The animation rarely has errors and is very polished, so if you like that art style you'll likely be pleased, and the sound is pretty good, both of its openings and all pf the ending songs are still really good as well.

Now, what I REALLY wanna talk about... Characters.
Soul is fine, I liked him a lot when I first watched the show, but with my more recent revisiting he fell to just an okay characters. Characters like him are very common in anime, and once you see it so many times it wears off.

Death the Kid could almost be the comic relief just because he has a thing for symmetry, but otherwise he's a pretty serious character. He's become one of my favorites more recently, because I crack up when he goes into his comic-releif mode.

Patty and Elizabeth who I keep calling Sue for some reason even though that's literally not their name. They're okay I guess, I never cared about them or their backstory much honestly, though I do like Elizabeth a bit more and think she's a good sister.

Tsubaki is my favorite character. She had a surprisingly good backstory, and is also really well designed. Not much to say other than that though.

Black Star used to be my least favorite character but over time he's become my second favorite. I'd say he's the more comic relief of the group, getting into trouble and screaming "I'M BLACKSTAR" while doing something probably stupid. I really enjoy his character now, and can appreciate him.

Now you may be thinking, aren't you forgetting someone? Ohhhh no, I saved the best (or worst) for last... Maka.
I, really don't like Maka. She is BY FAR my least favorite character in this anime, and is tied with Nina from Save me Lolipop as my least favorite anime character OF ALL TIME.
For one, she is whiney. Yes her dad was a cheat, but you know what? She's lucky that her dad loves her and cared for her so much, but she won't let the past go! But, I could accept if she only pointed her rage at her dad, but NOPE! In the FIRST EPISODE she thinks her partner Soul is going to leave her and starts complaining about how all men are pigs or something. She's like a whiney feminist, and I despise her for it.
Other than those faults, she's a Mary sue. Smart, able to lead, good at fighting, what's her bad quailies again? Oh, she's a feminist. Okay.

Over all I'd suggest this anime to anyone who likes action and a unique art style.
