One word to describe the anime was "gentle." The artistic style, the story, and the characters were all easily understood and really, just, gentle! The story was sweet and almost nostalgic for me as a young adult watching these middle schoolers in love. I found some of the plot to move slowly, and some montages to be too long. Some of the animation style was very robotic and animated differently than the prominent characters which made them distanced from the people in the background in a weird way. That being said, the careful animation around the festivals and performances were well done. I enjoyed that the protags participated in unlikely clubs and that I was able to see/experience a part of their culture I did not know about. In general, this was a good anime to pass some time and not feel too invested in all while casually cheering on Azumi and Mizuno. Nonetheless I am glad I watched it-young love is always refreshing and Tsuki ga Kirei did it very well.
