I was never one for slice of life anime until Barakamon. I was obsessed with Sailor Moon like story lines and even got into the gorey side of anime. Then Natsu entered my life (the main child character) and I find myself still looking for the next Barakamon.
Barakamon has the right amount of drama, comedy and "romance" a show needs. The characters are all intriguing and inspire you to just be yourself; love what you do and make no excuses. The small town in Barakamon along with the animation made me reconsider "city living." After each episode I longed for a simple village with a close knit community.
If you're not into slice of life anime, this show will completely change you. If you are looking for a slice of life show, none rival Barakamon. Just watch it and you'll see why I can't stop watching it!
