To all those who want to know what anime's salvation looks like.
This is it. This is what it looks like.

A heartfelt, sincere, well thought out, simple (yet still an) emotional roller-coaster of a story.
Without any of the vices of all common anime tropes.

If you like any story (not just in anime) with great, well thought out characters, world building, prose, narrative, heart! (e.g FMA, Baccano, Harry Potter). Well, enjoy.

No need to verbose here. Just watch it.
It does not define what an anime Can be. But (imho) what it Should be.

*It may seem episodic but it's not*
*Just extending this review because of MAL, no need to read necessarily, go watch the show. (And do share your experience)*

P.S Harry Potter, not because of 'magic'. But similar vibe in storytelling and characters.
...And I need to prolong this review further for some reason?
I mean
Do I need to mention the ThunderCats reference in episode 17? Or the Mobile Suite Gundam/Gurren Lagann reference in episode 18?
It's not the reference that's important. It's the way that it's pulled off, never blatant but a narratively, stylistically and aesthetically a part of the story. A nod to fans who have watched the original and a simple sakuga moment for those who haven't.

Seriously, these references are not what make the anime. It is objectively good. Because it objectively seeks to be just a good story.
And a good story it is, if not great.
Great moral messages, and the sincerity of its characters propel it skywards.
(And oh hell, the first few seconds of the eds of this anime are brilliant)
