I picked this anime up after watching some trailers and... well, who doesn't play MMORPG at least once in their lifetime these days? This is one of those stories that would call out to you as relatable. And I would say it had been a fun watch so far.
Story: 7/10
Character: 6/10
I would say the story overall is relatable, except the MC's bold decision to quit her job and be an elite NEET for the year. It was a fun watch, jokes being a relaxing laugh for the day, and ships you would want to see sailing.
The only thing that make me feel a bit off is the amount of coincidences the author put together in this story and the fact that the main character did not show even slightest distrust towards her net game-mates. Although MC used gaming as an escape from real life and that she did not enjoy her real-life work, I would expect MC to be more proper in making decisions and act mature for her age, even more so with her approximate 10 years of work life in addition to normal approximate 13 years of school life. Instead, MC suddenly became socially inept as a 30 years old. Discussing everything from what to wear to a drinking party to anything with an online "partner" from the gaming world where everyone is unknown... Although I get the idea that she wants to "totally escape" from real life... I feel that this aspect is totally unrealistic and makes me feel totally off about the story.
Moreover, just how lucky can you get in an MMORPG to have every member of the same guild living in the area near the MC and they all met at least once in the lawson convenience store? I get the fact that the story is moving so nicely this way and I see the possible small reverse-harem and ships around the MC (I personally have a ship I wanted to see sailing for the MC). But to have a "partner" in a random MMORPG be the friend of a colleague... The amount coincidences are too stacked up that the story feels too unrealistic.
I am not saying everything must be realistic because this is an anime. But unlike series like re-zero and konotsuba, this series uses realism as a theme and relativity as an attractive mechanism for the fun watch and I feel those two pillars are just barely preventing themselves from crumbling. I would be expecting something close to relife or tsuki ga kirei style even if it is slight.
Meanwhile I do feel that male protagonists are quite realistic as working adults including the fact that they are not the typical super dense guys you see in a romance anime.
The downside pretty much would be that it is 10 episodes and that we will hardly see proper development for MC's background.
However, I do enjoy it nonetheless for the small laughs I get from this anime, hence giving it 7/10 for the story and 6/10 for characters.
Art: 7/10
Art is pretty okay. I like how they make the change obvious for the NEET MC and the MC when attending social gathering. And it is obvious that there is a distinction between the real life and MMORPG, for the enemies you see is MMORPG are very random and not as appealng as 'real life' in the anime, which are pretty good details. There is consistent art as well so far. Hence 7/10.
Music: 7/10
The music is good, the beats are catchy and each time you watch an episode, it is one of those opening you would probably want to continue to listen. The same applies for the ending. But I can't say it is very great. Hence giving it 7/10.
I did enjoyed the jokes and the developments despite the flaws. It is a recommendation if you want stress-relieving jokes in your life, with not serious themes like shounen, I would say this would be a good remedy. But as a fan of shows such as these and slice of life, I can't say this is very good with all the loopholes... hence the overall score of 7/10 .
