As you can see, the top reviews are not really praises for the anime/manga. More specifically the plot. Yes, they have an understable point. But for me, this might be one of my best anime I've watched.

Kuzu no Honkai captures attention through its dark and very emotional "type" of loving someone. You can say it sucks, but you can learn a thing or two.

You can say it's so exaggerating but that's one point of it, it shows how love can be so powerful to someone that most people think he/she is exaggerating or crazy or an emo creep. Okay? That's what the MugixHanabi pairing forte is.

It shows 4 types of "love".

First: Shows how not getting your desired love from someone can result loneliness and finding a replacement. Something like finding a rebound guy or girl after a break up, or finding someone in your league to date than to keep on longing for someone out of your league.

Two: Just for satisfaction, accessory, perks or sex and you got used to it. You lost hope or motivation finding something genuine about it

Three: Because she looks like.. YOUR F%@$%NG MOM! (just kiddin)
Desiring someone whom you can picture yourself with, doesn't care of flaws. (idk, Kanai PoV is kind of rare to encounter...........

UNLESS YOU HAVE A MOTHER COMPLEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) just kiddin, might be serious because of her being deceased. He wants that love that he can picture as a lover's love as well as a mother's...still doesn't changes the fact that SHE ONLY LOOKS LIKE HER!( next time, if they look like you parents, go for it! Trust me)

Four: Childhood friend cliche, it's very common. I got childhood-friendzoned too :'(

TBH, you can't relate to it if you haven't felt it. Nowadays love is more of a game to play, you can play it seriously but also just for fun, trolling and etc. Kuzu no Honkai shows how serious feelings can be hurt or healed. You can't appreciate it if you don't dig it deeper (put it in ;)) You can say they're overreacting but it's reality. Try interviewing someone rejected or broken. You say it's exaggerated but that's because it's not as shallow as you typical romance show.

Do you know how it takes gut to confess?

Stay strong and hoping to be accepted by your love even if she/he is taken or not ?(not crush, I think it's shallow)?

Try to stay there and support your friend even if she/he rejected you? *moca*

I admire these characters because of those. It didn't intend to show a soap opera, just showed some real life situations.
