It' s true that "Raito" and "Lulu" may resemble each other a little, but their motives and personalities are utterly different. I think that Lelouch is stronger(I mean he's totally stable and sane person till the bitter end), but It doesn't mean that I like him better.
I've grown to like the characters in general, the story is quite captivating, although a bit simple. I's been already said that it's recommendable for anyone who enjoys watching strategic maсhinations and mind games.
And all the names: Japan, Britania etc are from alternative universe and setting, so don't let that spoil you the fun: it's not THE Japan, just some place with the same name and Mount Fuji.
