It does it's job sufficiently. Not hilarious, but they were amusing enough. If you liked the main series and want to see more akame ga kill, I'd recommend watching it. The last 2 episodes aren't funny, but touching. In fact, I was going to give this a 6, but the last 2 episodes bumped this to a 7.
I only have two criticisms (which aren't really criticisms); I would've liked more jaegers/esdeath episodes, and it would've been nice if the last 2 episodes were one normal style ONA/short, even if it was a comedy one.
